didn't find any references to a DKW special being built in the fifties or sixties. You may want to try asking this over at Atlas F1's The Nostalgia Forum, as well.
drawback: a DKW special edition would not be particularly suitable as a chauffeur-driven saloon for a director. In 1953 that was set to change.
competing in 1969 driving the ex Frank Keane DKW special, lots of hills, autocross and rallys in 970 Cooper S. The late John Tansey gave me his Special for a few seasons.
