1963-1966 NSU Wankel Spider was produced in limited numbers by this
old-line German firm to test public reaction.
The NSU Wankel Spider could have been just another of the many
minimalist German cars like Lloyd, Goggomobile and Isetta that evolved
after the Second World War.
A total of 2,375 NSU Wankel Spiders were produced until 1967. Its
competitor, the Austin Healey Sprite, needed 5 more bhp to achieve
the same top speed.
